Ghirardelli Square, considered the first successful adaptive reuse project in the country, has a history that spans more than a century and covers three continents. This specialty retail and dining complex, housing shops and restaurants, was originally a chocolate factory established by Domenico “Domingo” Ghirardelli.
Here two of San Francisco’s most recognized icons, Ghirardelli Square and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, have partnered to create one the most celebrated and distinctive destinations in the City, Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square. As part of Fairmont’s exclusive collection of private residence clubs, the property offers for-sale fractional residence as a second home, as well as luxury hotel accommodations, all within one of the City’s most famous, national historic landmarks.
Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is a manufacturer and marketer of premium chocolate products. Incorporated in 1852 and the country’s longest continuously operating chocolate manufacturer, Ghirardelli has established its position as America’s Premium Chocolate Company.
Be sure to visit the Original Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop, where you can view chocolate manufacturing equipment, indulge in Hot Fudge Sundaes, and sample one of our famous SQUARES™ chocolates. Don’t miss our other two locations in Ghirardelli Square—Ghirardelli Marketplace in the West Plaza and Ghirardelli-On-the-Go down on Beach Street.
