Noelle Phares: Salty and Dark

Stop by COL Gallery to see the amazing works of Noelle Phares. Trained as a biochemist and environmental scientist, Phares paints landscapes affected by industrial expansion, tourism, climate change, and urban sprawl. Created during a residency in southern France while pregnant with her first child, this new body of work quietly explores motherhood, identity, and the femininity embedded in land and life.

“So much about that time felt salty and dark. I was greatly unsettled by what I perceived to be the impending restrictions of motherhood… But after I met my little daughter, I realized that there was a lot of beauty in that precious time." -Noelle Phares
